CHESTERFIELD SOLDIER MISSING
Private John Holmes, 23 Prospect Street, Stonegravels, Chesterfield, who is a Private in the Chatham Battalion of the Royal Marine Light Infantry, and who was in action in the Dardenelles has been officially reported as missing. Before war broke out he was a miner at Holmewood Colliery. Aged about 40 and single he went through the South African War.
